Rum Cake

Rum is a distilled spirit derived from a sugarcane by-product called molasses. When the first distillation of rum began, it began in the Caribbean when plantation slaves realized the molasses, left over from sugar refinement, could be turned into alcohol. Rum is considered to be the world’s oldest distilled spirit and is made throughout the Caribbean.

The basic ingredients used in preparing a rum cake are yellow cake mix, instant vanilla pudding, oil, water, rum, eggs, chopped pecans, butter, sugar and cream cheese. There are a number of shops that supply different types of rum cakes. Run cake is very easy to make. But not everyone can relish its taste. Rum cake is often closely associated with Caribbean dessert recipes. A Caribbean rum cake is often laced liberally with rum. Here, rum cakes are available with various kinds of icing to suit your taste. Some of them are unique and exotic and not easily available in other parts of the world. Rum cake or black cake is the traditional choice for all major celebrations in this part of the world. There is an almost endless variety including almond, apple rum bundt cake, apricot, autumn rum cake, Bacardi banana rum cake, banana rum cake, banana rum fudge cake, black rum cake, Canadian rum cake, chocolate chip rum cake and chocolate coconut rum cake.
